Petaluma’s Newest Mural…by Maxfield Bala

While I generally only post on the 1st of each month, today I will make an exception!

The current edition of the Petaluma Argus Courier contains a front page article on the latest public mural by a local artist, Maxfield Bala.  It is indeed quite a project.  The article mentions the artist having to work on a difficult surface in that the site was corrugated metal.  Well, you have to see it to believe it.

In addition to the uneven corrugated surface, several of the panels had gaps or overlaps in the joints. Yet he pulled it off!  I have been following the progress over the last few days, and I think he has finished.  Although I wonder if he may intend to do the entire building 🙂

First, a photo of what I believe to be the finished mural…
